Dr. Harold Willmington was a pastor, teacher, dean, and author. He served on the faculty of Liberty University for over 40 years. He was the founding dean of the Thomas Road Bible Institute which eventually became known as the Liberty Bible Institute. In 1976, he began the Liberty Home Bible Institute, a home correspondence course that provided a Bible college education to over 100,000 students. Through the innovation of audio cassette tapes, people had unprecedented access to Bible training. The course became the world’s largest correspondence diploma program on the Bible and positioned Liberty to be a pioneer in distance education, reaching thousands of people from their own homes.
Mt. Zion Bible Institute serves to mold every student into the image of Christ in order to mobilize them to minister the word of God to the world. Our Bible Institute utilizes experienced pastors and missionaries for classroom instruction. We serve to teach students how to confidently study the Bible, identify God’s will for their lives, and establish a vision for personal ministry. The curriculum focuses on theology and ministry leadership development. We strive to create an affordable and flexible online learning experience that supports a variety of unique student needs.
Our curriculum aims to grow students in biblical knowledge, faith and a relationship with Jesus Christ within his Word and prayer. Our program of study is designed to promote ministry involvement, leadership and spiritual growth in conjunction with and through the structure and authority of each students local church. We train men and women to make serving Christ their lifelong pursuit, no matter where He calls them. |
Dr. Harold Willmington served as Liberty University’s longest-serving faculty member, instructing students from God’s textbook for life — the Bible. Now, he is leaving a legacy through digital recordings, and renderings, passing his love of Scripture to future generations by making his personal collection available for free to the public. “My goal is, and always has been since I came here, to raise the level of Bible knowledge among God’s people,” Willmington said. “That’s where revival begins — when God’s people go back to the Bible. That’s the legacy I want to leave.” INSTRUCTIONS: Below are notes and materials. After completing the lectures, you may complete the final open book, notes, and internet exam.
